MS Terminal Server

Introduction

Please watch this one minute video which shows how Microsoft’s Terminal Server technology works and the organisations that get the best out of this technology. It also shows how MCG helps businesses to set-up and maintain the technology and describes the big benefits of using MS Terminal Server.

MS Terminal Server

Microsoft’s MS Terminal Server Services (Windows Server 2012), allows a user to access applications and data on a remote server via the user’s network or the Cloud. In this way, most of the processing and activity is done by the remote server/Cloud and the local computer becomes a passive terminal. This allows more than one user to access the Server software applications and data from each work station

MCG provides consulting, designing and planning advice on setting up and maintaining IT server networks that are accessed by individual user computer terminals via remote servers/the cloud, resulting in minimised ownership and operational costs

MCG recognises that the use of MS Terminal Server is suitable for:

  • those clients who want to centrally host applications and data through their IT network, which only uses low specification computer resources, such as PCs and laptops.
  • large accounting firms that want to access multiple applications from a network level.

Remote servers using MS Terminal Server have the following benefits:

  • Remote access to data and applications anywhere in the world
  • Eliminating the need to equip the office with expensive computers
  • Increased life cycle of computer resources, such as PCs and laptops
  • Centralised management and control of applications and data
  • Reduced cost of ownership and management of applications and data
